Rotary die encapsulation system for pharmaceutical, nutraceutical & cosmetic applications
Capacity: 5,000 - 60,000 capsules/hour | Filling accuracy: ±1-2%
Designed for pharmaceutical, nutraceutical & cosmetic manufacturers
The NJP Series rotary die softgel encapsulation machines are engineered for pharmaceutical companies, contract manufacturers, and nutraceutical producers requiring high-precision capsule production with consistent quality and GMP compliance.
Our encapsulation systems utilize the proven rotary die process, where two continuous gelatin ribbons are formed, filled with your formulation, and sealed simultaneously between rotating dies. This method ensures:
All contact parts are fabricated from 316L stainless steel with pharmaceutical-grade surface finish (Ra ≤ 0.4 μm). The machines are designed for CIP (Clean-in-Place) compatibility and meet cGMP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and EU GMP requirements.
Choose the right capacity for your production needs
All models available with HPMC processing capability and optional upgrades. Custom configurations available.
Industry-standard technology for consistent capsule quality
Medical-grade gelatin or HPMC solution is prepared at 55-65°C in a thermostatic tank. The molten gelatin is spread onto a cooling drum to form two continuous ribbons (thickness: 0.6-1.2mm, adjustable).
Gelatin ribbons pass through a lubrication system (food-grade mineral oil) to prevent sticking. Ribbon temperature is maintained at 35-40°C for optimal forming properties.
The two ribbons converge between the rotating die rolls. As die pockets form, the precision dosing pump injects the fill material (oil, suspension, or paste) at ±1-2% accuracy.
Hydraulic pressure (0.3-0.8 MPa) seals the capsule edges as the die rolls rotate. Individual capsules are cut from the ribbon by the die pockets.
Formed capsules are ejected onto a conveyor and transferred to the initial drying tumbler. Wet capsules contain 20-30% moisture at this stage.
Capsules are dried in a controlled environment (25°C, 30% RH) for 4-8 hours to reach final moisture content (6-10%). Weight variation, sealing integrity, and appearance are inspected per USP/EP standards.
